Reviews: Upbeat, herky, jerky (I guess that's funky?) fast rock. Yeah, fast and furious with an out of control singer boppin' around between guitar attacks and drum rolls. Interesting. -Al Flipside (from Flipside #45, Spring 1985) An unusual release. Sorry are able to merge thrash power, distinctive song structures, and high-quality musicianship to produce some material comparable to that of certain other bands who are pushing back the frontiers of punk. Many of their songs are too jazzy or disjointed for my taste, but others hit home with ringing guitars and poppier sensibilities (like the Mekons' "Where Were You"). Listen before buying unless you have broad musical interests. -Jeff Bale (from Maximum Rocknroll #17, September 1984) |
