Reviews: And broke it up they did, with this posthumous release. SSD went ever further into the arena-style heavy metal sound. AC/DC is the obvious influence, but the weak, recent AC/DC stuff, not the rock'n'roll AC/DC of "Let There Be Rock." This results in songs that would benefit a lot if they simply sped them up and cut down on the generic rock God leads (the amount of which surpasses any band). I'll get some enjoyement out of this, but, just as I do for AC/DC, I long for the years gone by. P.S. Once again, the cover is another rip-off? Parody? of an MTC metal band album cover. This one being Def Leppard's "Pyromania." I sure hope it's a parody. -Brady Rifkin (from Ink Disease #10, Winter 1985) |
