Reviews:

Once again, bravely mixing their snotty garage sound with all-out noisefests, the new SONIC YOUTH LP is full of careening walls of sound and mixtures of delicate and uncomfortable tension. "Ghost Bitch" is one of the creepiest songs I've ever heard. Some gore filmmaker better grab these guys while thy're still cheap! This also includes their duet with LYDIA LUNCH on "Death Valley '69."

Sonic Youth seem to be getting more amazing with each new release. Pounding rhythms and grinding guitars coupled with feedback and harmonics, all in the right places, and a variety of vocalists create visions of decay and deterioration throughtout this album. "Ghost Bitch" and "I Love Her All the Time" are perfect examples of this. "Brave Men Run" has to be the most moving piece on this LP. However, "Death Valley 69" with Lydia Lunch completes the awesome energy this LP puts out. There were points while listening that I forgot to breathe.
