Reviews: Everybody's been gripin' about how there's so many bad bands on this record, but I sat down and really listened to it and maybe seven tracks out of 47 truly suck. That's not bad especially since you can get this record some places for only $7. This disc is a pretty good representation of Nevada and Northern California bands. It's got big bands like DK's, Flipper and MDC plus lesser known but extremely good bands like MIA and MAD. You get a mag with a page on each band too. -Bess (from Paranoia #6, Spring 1983) We're in no position to be objective about this one, since we compiled it. All we'll say is that it features 47 Northern California and Nevada bands (a few known elsewhere, most not), and ranges from hardcore to garage. All cuts previously unreleased. Comes with 48-page zine on the bands. -Tim Yohannan (from Maximum Rocknroll #1, July/August 1982) |
