Reviews: Posh Hits Volume One is yet another compilation from Posh Boy Records. Mostly consists of old releases from Posh Boy recording artists that have worked with them since 1977. With a little never before released tunes included makes this well worthwhile to me. Includes Circle Jerks, Agent Orange, Social Distortion doing Moral Threat, Crowd, U.X.A., Simpletones, Shattered Faith, T.S.O.L., Stepmothers and the Nuns. L.A. Rocks! -Javi Savage (from Big City #4, July/August 1983) Like the title sez, this is a greatest hits record with songs most of ya have probably heard by now except "Moral Threat" by Social Distortion. Other bands include Red Cross, Circle Jerks, TSOL, Black Flag and numerous "alternative" bands. This is for the new punk or someone who missed out on earlier LA tunes. -Bess (from Paranoia #6, Spring 1983) A great compilation of tracks from the vaults of Poshboy Records. There are many gems here, but the Circle Jerks' "Wild in the Streets," the Crowd's "Modern Machine," and TSOL's "Peace Through Power" rank as highlights in an album that also includes chestnuts by Agent Orange, Black Flag, and UXA. Good variety and quality make this record mandatory if you don't have the original recordings. -Steve Spinali (from Maximum Rocknroll #7, July/August 1983) |
