Reviews:

So they got long hair now... I don't care, the Flag still flies high in these here parts as far as I'm concerned. The B side tunes are prime BF stuff, don't you a-worry it's good... But I have to admit, "TV Party" does lag... why did they slow it down and add the hand claps? Could they be looking for the all elusive "commercial potential" maybe? Geez guys, don't fuck up.
-Hugh Mungus (from Oops! #5, Fall 1982)

A side of B.F.'s most commercial song, and features current drummer Emil. B side's "I've Got to Run" and "My Rules," sound more like the LP, with fill-in drummer Bill. Production is even cleaner though. Bring back Robo!
-Tim Yohannon (from Maxumum Rock'n'Roll #1, July/August 1982)

I'm sure you've made up your mind about "TV Party" by now... Sure it was funny he first few times but I can't even bear the thought of ever listening to it again... Believe it or not this newly recorded version is even worse than the one on "Damaged"...which probably means it will be even a bigger hit... The flipside is very typical Black Flag sounding... The same themes presented in the same manner... A distinct lack of freshness dominates this 45... They've improved the vocal mix since the LP, and don't get me wrong, "I've Got to Run" is a good song but there is an unmistakable feling that something is missing here...
