DAS FUX/X-TEENS split tape 01. Das Fux - tracklist unknown 02. The X-Teens - tracklist unknown Format: split tape Released: 1982 |
Reviews: I recently got a chance to hear a tape of two bands from Fayetteville, Arkansas. The first one, DAS FUX, was together for a week, during which they did three gigs. They have a really raw underground sound, kinda like Flipper but more twisted, with warped psychopathic vocals. Song titles include "I'm a Maniac," "Dead Zone," and "Car Wreck." The other band, the X-TEENS, were formerly known as Teen Scum. They have a raw, medium speed churning sound with deliriously off-key female vocals. Song titles include "666-0999," "Letter Bomb," and "You're a Dumb Shit." Due to lack of practice, neither band sounds tight or intense, but if anything this tape proves that the hardcore underground is penetrating deeper and deeper into the heart of middle America. For more information on Arkansas punk, contact Russell Love (he just moved out to California). -Tim Tonooka (from Ripper #7, May 1982) |
