In 1980 few bored Yugoslavian rebels decided to form a punk/new wave band and they called it Elektricni Orgazam (Electric Orgasm). They had their first gig in Belgrade in June the same year where they played with a band called Hipnotisano Pile (Hypnotised Chick). In the Fall of 1980 they caused a scandal at a Youth Festival in Subotica where they played aggresively and destroyed some equipment in the process. They were disqualified and booted from the fest which they did not like anyways. Their singles appeared on the legendary Yugoslavian compilation called Paket Aranzman (a must have) which was a representation of the unique punk sound of Belgrade. With the release of their first, self-titled album they achieved popularity overnight. After hearing their material Chris Bohn from New Musical Express said that they were the most interesting non-English band at the time which in turn led to their record selling in England. They recorded another great album after that before changing their sound.
